PRE-RACE INFORMATION


- All participants are advised against the consumption of alcohol within 24 hours of their race.
- If you were to fall ill 7 days prior to the event, please seek an advice or clearance from your personal doctor before starting the race.
- Please ensure that you are well-rested and well-hydrated on day of race.
- You are advised to dress lightly for the race.
- Should you feel unwell, you should stop and seek immediate medical attention at medical personal around the road.
- The Organizers reserve the right to remove any participant deemed physically incapable of continuing the race.

Before the Race

  1. All participants must wear his/her race bib clearly on the front of their running tee at all times during the race. Any participant without a race bib will not be allowed to take part in the race.
  2. Upon arrival, please proceed to place your running gear at the TA (Transition Area) indicated with your race number to place your bike.
  3. Please proceed to the run start area 15minutes before the scheduled start of your wave.
  4. A grace period of 10minutes after the commencement of the race will be given for latecomers. Anyone who reports later than this grace period will not be allowed to participate in the race. Latecomers should be aware that their timings would have commenced when the race begins.
  5. Bottled water will be provided for all participants (with bib only) before the start of the race at the Carnival Drink Station.
  6. No pets, push prams, skate boards, skate scooters, inline skates etc are allowed on the race course.
  7. There will not be any bag deposit services at the race venue.


TRANSITION AREA

The transition area will be opened at least one hour before the commencement of the race and participants shall place their bicycles at the designated location marked by their race numbers on the bike racks in the Transition Area. The bicycles are to be arranged according to the allocated numbers. The participants may also place his/her other competition gear at their designated area just below their bikes.

*Family members, supporters and friends and all non competitors are not permitted into the transition area.


RELAY TEAMS

The runners in the team must display the race bib visibly and clearly in front of his/her racing attire and the cyclist must display the race bib at the back of his/her cycling attire.

All relay participants are to receive their ¡°instrument of relay¡± (Championchip and band) at the allocated bike racks within the Transition Area.

*All winners are expected to report 15 minutes earlier at the stage. Prize winners are requested to assemble at the waiting area next to the stage.

SITE PLANS AND ROUTES

Please familiarize yourself with the site plan and the routes you need to take for your category of race. This will reduce your anxiety and save you time in the transition area.

Running

  • All runners in relay teams must ensure that their ChampionChip are securely strapped to their left ankles before running.
  • All runners must wear their race numbers in front of their racing attire at all times.
  • Support vehicles or pacers are not allowed.
  • Runners must run on the designated path for the entire route. Failure to do so may result disqualification.
  • No running with bare torso
  • Runners who are unable to complete the race before the road reopens are to run to pavement after which all runs taken on the road will be strictly prohibited.

Cycling

  • All cyclists must ensure that their ChampionChip are securely strapped to their left ankles before cycling.
  • All cyclists must cycle with their ChampionChip strapped to their left ankle during the cycling leg and pass the ChampionChip to their runners at designated area.
  • Cyclist must ensure that their competition numbers are clearly visible at the back of their adorned apparel at all times
  • No bare torso is allowed at all times
  • A participant may run or walk with his/her bicycles
  • Cyclists are to keep to the left side of their lane reminded to observe traffic rules at all times.
  • All participants will have to perform their own repairs if their bicycles should break down.
  • Support vehicles and crews are not permitted
  • All cyclists must wear helmets before pushing off their bikes from Transition area.
  • The helmet must stay on cyclists' head till he/she has placed in his/her bicycles securely at the allocated space on the bike rack.
  • All participants are encouraged to have their bicycles brakes are in good working condition.
  • No drafting is allowed.
  • Cyclists who are unable to complete the race before the road reopens will be asked to turn back to the Transition Area.

During the Race

  • Medical points are located near the finishing area.
  • Water stations are located at the Transition Area, End Point, 1.4km, 2.5km & 3.6km mark.

After the Race

  • Each participant will be given a finisher medal at the End Point upon completion of the race. Please use the ChampionChip to exchange your finisher medal.


OTHER EVENT INFORMATION

Race Timing and Appeal

All appeals must be lodged within 30 minutes of his/her finish time. The participant should complete the prescribed appeal form and a deposit of S$50. The deposit will be refunded if the protest is successful.
The appeal form can be collected at Admin Tent. The appeal deposit should be made at Admin Tent.

  • Only the official number tags issued by the Organising Committee may be used.
  • All participants must return the Championchip to the organizers immediately after the race. The cost of replacing the chip and its strip is $50.00.
  • The Organisers reserve the right to amend the rules and regulations without prior notification.

Wet Weather Arrangement

  • In the event of heavy rain, lightning and other inclement weather, the event will be delayed and our event music will stop playing during this period. Participants or non-participants alike may seek shelter at either One Boulevard or Raffles Quay.
  • Event music will resume again once the weather has cleared and participants may return to the event area.
  • Should the inclement weather last beyond 9.30am the organizers reserve the right to delay or cancel the event at its discretions.
  • The event will not be postponed to a later date.
  • Organizers reserve the rights to alter or cancel the event in view of inclement weather.
